About

Darcy Wain is one of Australia’s most exciting emerging artists. A graduate of the Elder Conservatorium of Music (ECMT), Darcy made his professional debut in Melbourne Theatre Company/StateTheatre Company of South Australia’s Kimberly Akimbo (dir. Mitchell Butel) alongside Marina Prior, Casey Donovan, & Christie Whelan-Browne. Audiences fell in love with his performance which earned him a Green Room Award nomination for Outstanding Artist in a Supporting Role (Commercial Musical Theatre).

In 2026 Darcy made his Victorian Opera (VO) debut in The Pirates of Penzance (dir. Stuart Maunder) before returning to VO for the premiere of Reg Livermore’s Ned Kelly The Musical (dir. Stuart Maunder) as Steve Hart. Later this year, Darcy will join the cast of State Theatre Company of South Australia's The Heartbreak Choir (dir. Shannon Rush).

Darcy’s ECMT credits include Lord Farquaad in Shrek The Musical (dir. Erin James), Theodore ‘Laurie’ Laurence in Little Women (dir. Erin James), Annas / US Jesus & Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar (dir. George Torbay), and U/S Anthony Hope and Adolfo Pirelli in Sweeney Todd (dir. James Millar). While studying, Darcy also performed in the State Theatre Company of South Australia/State Opera of South Australia’s season of Candide (dir. Amy Campbell & Mitchell Butel).
